The Long Drive

Posted by admin on 01 Nov 2008 | Tagged as: Fantasy + Fantasies, Looking for Adventure

I need to get home soon. I need to get there by noon to see my beautiful and gorgeous baby. As I step on the gas I think about long straight drive ahead. I have driven this road many time before, and know the terrain well. I know where the potholes are. I know all the spots that the cops like to sit and wait for their next victim, tonight. I know the perfect spots to stop for gas or a great sandwich. As I rush down the narrow stretch of road through the corn and wheat fields I notice something up ahead in the road. This is not unusual because there are lots of wild animals, that run around here and large bails of hay are known to fall off huge farming trucks. But this was different. White and shiny. As I got closer to the object, it seemed more and more like a shiny ball, just sitting there in the middle of the road. How did a ball get way out here in the middle nowhere? Was there some crazy village of the damned children at play, hiding in the cornfields, just waiting foran unsuspecting driver to come along and see where this ball had?

When I finally arrived at the object, I was shocked to discover that I was a policeman’s helmet. But where was the cop. I got out of the car and picked up the white helmet to find it cracked and was laying I a little pool of blood. I was very worried, and scoured the area for whoever this helmet belonged to, surely the could be far. I found nothing and continued on my way. I made that all up.
