The Green Police are on patrol in the UK’s world famous annual musical festival, the Glastonbury Festival. Every year, the Glastonbury Festival attracts thousands of music and culture fans in its eclectic showcasing of top-name bands, cultural shows, and performance art. To make sure the Glastonbury Festival has the minimal amount of environmental impact, festival organizers are accepting applications from volunteer Green Police to make sure the festival is clean and green.

The duties of the green police include educating people on how to reduce their environmental impact. The green police volunteers will show people how to properly dispose their cigarette butts, recycle their containers, as well as make sure no one is littering…or urninating in the bushes!

Each green police officer will go through a complete training session, and then they are encouraged to create their own colorful and inventive uniform. Green police volunteers will get to have their own exclusive camp area. Like any normal police officer, green police volunteers are expected to refrain from drinking, smoking, or having an hangover while on duty.

Green police volunteers are treated like any other festival employee, and are considered essential members of the Glastonbury Festival team. However, to discourage people from simply volunteering as green police to get free tickets, green police volunteers must pay for their ticket before their service. After the green police volunteer successfully completes his or her service, that volunteer will get a full reimbursement of the ticket.
