A soldier was assigned the job of driving a Captain who was returning from
Due to this accident, the army officer suffered from grievous injuries. His left leg had two fractures and the ligaments in his knee were torn. The little finger in his left hand cannot be used and his right leg has become numb. In addition, the Captain had to suffer pain in the chest and back. Currently, he has returned to his job and resumed his duties.
The Captain filed a civil suit for compensation, in which the Ministry of Defence did not pose any objection to its liability. As a result, civil damages worth £150,000 were awarded to him.
A solicitor who has specialisation in the area of negligence by armed forces has enumerated the various compensation rights that are available to defence personnel.
A member of the defence forces has the right to get compensation in civil law from 1987 onwards, for the hurt caused to him either during war or otherwise. The compensation is available only if the forces can be held responsible for the injuries.
The Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) was brought in force in 2005 to substitute the War Pensions Scheme. Under this scheme, every personnel in the Regular and Reserve Forces can ask for compensation in case of death, ill health or injuries, if the same are linked to service. It is only applicable if the cause of action happened on or after 6 April 2005. The right under civil law is still available to the personnel and the compensation awarded under one of the claims will be taken into account in the other claim.

eHarmony is one of the top 3 online dating services. It is marketed to potential customers looking for serious, long-term relationships. To join the service, you have to fill out a 500 questions relationship questionnaire. That tends to weed out the casual dating service customer. eHarmony was created by a Christian doctor using scientific methods to testcompatibility. Though eHarmony has distanced from marketing itself as a Christian service, its theories and methods remain unchanged.
The eHarmony method is known as 29 Dimensions and You. The 29 Dimensions are a combination of core traits and vital attributes, as they are classified by the eHarmony people. Core Traits include emotional temperament, social style, cognitive mode and physicality. These traits are sub-divided into other outward and psychological sounding categories. Vital Attributes included relationship skills, key experiences, values and beliefs. These deal mainly with your personal history and value system and also are seperated into more specific sub-divisions. Internet users areinfamous for lying on personal information, so the 500 questions are crafted to lure as much information out of the responders.
When you fill out the questionnaire, you will recieve a free personality profile. If you choose to sign up for the service, youll recieve a compatibility matches and the chance to review the profiles of the matches. At this point, you are allowed to add a must have and cant stand lists. This eliminates instant disqualifiers from the process, saving you and everyone else a lot of time.
eHarmony offers a risk-free 7-day trial. If you dont like the first round of matches offered by eHarmony, you can walk away at no cost. You will notice that eHarmony is more expensive than Yahoo Personals, but expect to get a more intensive experience from the specialist service.

Leona Lewis wants to write a film and might even try her hand at acting in the future, she has revealed.
Leona Lewis – who has a song included on the soundtracks to new films ‘Precious’ and ‘Avatar’ respectively – is a huge movie fan and would love to pen a script in the future.
The 24-year-old singer said: “I love movies but I’m more into scriptwriting and the actual story and behind the scenes. But I wouldn’t say no if it was the right thing.”
Leona’s current single ‘Happy’ is featured in ‘Precious’, which tells the story of an overweight, illiterate teenager who dreams of a better life.
The pop star was thrilled when the track got picked to be used in the movie, saying: “I’m just so proud of it because I wrote it, and for it to be associated with a film like ‘Precious’, which is about trying to overcome troubles and trials in your life, is amazing. I’m glad that someone got that message.”
As Leona’s career goes from strength-to-strength, she is attracting a host of star fans.
Rihanna – who was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February – is a huge admirer and was very upset to hear about Leona being attacked by a fan at a recent book signing.
The ‘Russian Roulette’ singer said: “I got so mad, like it was me. I couldn’t believe it happened to her, of all people. It’s so disappointing when people behave like that. Why? She’s so sweet. She is just a beautiful, beautiful spirit. You don’t want any bad things to happen to her.”
