Welcome to part 2 of “Why Every Artist Needs a Blog”, a series showing how a successful blog can help you sell more art.
Now that you have successfully published your artist blog and have tested your dedication to frequent blog posting, it’s time to get your blog exposure on the web. Using blog-specific online marketing techniques, you can promote your blog to a target audience and build quality traffic to it – for free.
7 Steps to Build Traffic to your Artist Blog
1. Submit to Blog Directories
(See Part 1 of this series for tips on writing optimized copy for your blog)
2. Ping Blog Services
“Pinging” is a way of letting blog directories and search engines know that you have updated your blog. By sending a ping to each service, you let them know that a new post has been published so they can come check you out.
3. Optimize each blog post for search engines
Getting visibility in natural search for a blog post is no different than getting visibility for a web page. The same rules of “writing for search” apply – meaning keyword rich titles, content length, optimized hyperlinks, alt tags, etc. Here are quick tips for optimizing each of your blog posts for higher rankings in natural search results:
4. Build Links to Your Blog
A link building campaign is the best way to get quality and relevant traffic to your blog. These methods, although time consuming, are the best ways to get links pointing to your blog.
5. Promote Bloglet
Bloglet is a free service for people to sign up for an email alert each time their favorite blog publishes a new post. It’s perfect for people who have not jumped on the RSS bandwagon just yet, or for those that never will (sorry mom!).
6. RSS Feeds
Set your blog to display RSS feeds and submit your blog’s RSS feed to the major RSS feed directories online. Go here for a list of the top RSS directories: http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm
7. Email Signature
Building traffic to your artist blog is not a scientific process. It takes time, hard work, and persistence to build a loyal audience and create your niche interactive community on the web. Tracking your success is a key motivational tool that will help get you through some guaranteed trying times that come with building a successful blog. Be sure to benchmark the current state of your traffic, your rankings on the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN) and the visitor commenting activity on your blog before implementing these free online marketing techniques.

It seems that our space probes end up changing speeds as they leave our solar system, but why? Is space less dense there? Is the energy of our solar system creating wake in deep space as it moves? Is it because the gravity of our Sun has released it? Or is it some other phenomena?
Well, this is indeed an interesting question to ponder and I liken it to the issues in aviation with True Airspeed (TAS). You see, TAS is the speed at which you are “actually traveling over the ground” yet you could have a head wind, higher air pressure (near sea level-thick air) and show you are going faster thru the airflow, but actually slower over the ground. I can remember as a kid flying a Civil Air Patrol Piper Super Cub and looking at the airspeed reading 45 Kts but then looking at the ground and it seemed I was going backwards at about walking speed.
And if you are in thinner air, in the jets stream or such you would not show you are going as fast as you actually are over the ground. This relates with space flight outside of the solar system in that your probe is not into a change in density or a different flow, that the flow within the solar system as it moves together as a unit thru the void of space. I do not necessarily think of things in this manner, just pointing out knowing of such here on earth makes it hard for one to be shocked that a probe leaving the solar system would not change speeds. In fact I would expect it too. Consider such things like this in 2006.

The Property Index site has a vast range of property for sale in Italy, view the range online.
Notwithstanding the Property Index may be considered a fledgling syndicate, (they were set up in March 2007), they have attained to expert status very quickly. As a matter of fact, they are a pretty undemanding syndicate concentrated on catering to essentially anyone who is expecting to buy, sell, rent or let property across the world. Their pledge is to lend you a hand to uncover exactly what you are looking for quickly and, naturally, sans hassle. Estate is available for the asking wherever you want these days, unquestionably the really elite area being land available for sale in Italy. It should really be easy as ABC to specify the superb properties for sale in Italy, the reason for investigating properties here is the houses and apartments for sale and the chance of living with such a high-spirited and robust people.
It’s one of the most sought after countries these days, and with the gorgeous landscape and wonderful weather surrounding you all day long, how could you conceivably be wrong! Estate in Italy is steeped in history, this region is home to more than a few indigenous civilizations. About 20 years ago there was merely a dribble of English people keen on properties in Italy. Just ask everyone who has relocated to Italy and they’ll tell you the same thing. Many would tag it a basically irrelevant fad and others tag it a that’s more or less an addiction! Customers that are willing to remove to this region will range from young freshly weds in search of a perspective to older generations meaning to rest and enjoy themselves.
Note that there can be problems when looking to acquire properties overseas — of course there are dozens of steps when budgeting, paying a visit or buying and completing. If you only miss but a single action it can easily provoke large problems as well as, even more importantly, money loss. As you will anticipate with this sought after location, properties may be dear in this place and this, of course, is absolutely a result of the expanding buyer demand. Nonetheless clients are certainly pretty spoilt for choice in such a place boasting such a phenomenal environment and pleasant view. It can boast the lot a property buyer might conceivably require and plenty more.

Niche (n)
a. A situation or activity specially suited to a person’s interests,
abilities, or nature.
b. A special area of demand for a product or service.
Niching (tr.v.)
To place in a niche.
As a Virtual Assistant (VA), you know about filling a niche because you
are already doing it by being a VA. You cater to the administrative,
technical, creative, and financial needs of your clients by assisting them
virtually. This itself is a niche.
If you’re like many entrepreneurs when first starting in business, you
took every job that came along. You did it from a place of necessity.
Even if you thought yours was the exception, no company can meet
every need of every client throughout the life of a business. There is no
doubt, however, that this approach serves us well in the beginning!
If you are an exceptional entrepreneur who has developed a reputation
of excellence in everything you do, eventually you will need to make
important decisions about the future of your company because you have
more business than you are able to manage. What a dilemma! You are
no longer in a place where you must accept work because it provides
revenue. Your hard work has brought you to where you have the
opportunity to pick-and-choose your clients from this point forward.
What a thrill to redefine your growing business!
This is the perfect time not only to increase your fees, but also to decide
on the specific industry or industries and type(s) of clients you most want
to serve. This is known as niching.
By narrowing your focus, you:
• have the opportunity to work with people in the industry of your choice.
• have inside exposure to different aspects/news of the industry from the
perspective/experience of your clients.
• can position yourself as the VA expert within your industry and use this
to market your services, e.g. “We cater to the ____ industry and are the
first and only ones to do so. We are best equipped to meet your needs
because we know the industry from the inside out!”
• will have the passion and tenacity on those days when you question
your sanity and wonder if you truly have what it takes to be a VA. You
will be serving an industry you love and that will carry you to your next
new client/task.
• keep your focus on those clients/markets that most interest you and
will continue to interest you over the life of your business.
• are maintaining a concentrated marketing/advertising focus instead of
diluting your efforts by trying to meet every need of every client in every
field.
• increase your ability to get an hourly rate that is higher than a VA
business with no niche focus. If you have insider knowledge of a
specific industry, your expertise is more valuable and therefore, you can
charge more for your services.
Initially, you may think that you risk losing business because you are
niching yourself too narrowly. However, if your focus is catering to a
specific industry and all your marketing efforts are placed there, you will
soon reap the rewards of clients who come only from your chosen
industry . . . an industry you love and want to cater to anyway! You will
have more business than you’ll be able to manage and can soon raise
your rates again!
Okay, now that you’ve decided you want to niche tighter, you may be
asking yourself how to go about choosing an industry.
A key factor in deciding on a specific industry is to spend a few hours
assessing your own interests, work style, and personality characteristics.
With at least an hour of uninterrupted time set aside for this specific task,
use a blank sheet of paper and answer the following questions:
1. What are my hobbies?
2. What are other areas of interest that are not yet hobbies? What
passions have I not had the time to explore?
3. Which existing clients bring me the most joy? Why? In which
industries do they work?
4. What are the work and personality characteristics of my ideal
client?
In answering these questions thoughtfully, you will begin to see patterns
emerge. These patterns will offer clues about which industries to further
investigate as possible options for your new focus.
Now that you are thinking more about focused niching, it is a perfect
time to go through your list of services and cut out the ones that:
• you don’t love
• aren’t lucrative
• aren’t requested often enough to warrant keeping them on your list of
services
These points will move you closer to being in full alignment with
providing the services that you most enjoy! You are creating a vacuum .
. . an open space that will be filled with dream clients in your desired
industry! How does that sound? Think about it. If your current
circumstance is filled with an unfocused direction, clients coming in from
fields that hold no interest for you, and old service offerings, it is your
duty to yourself and the life of your business to draw in a situation that is
a much better match.
Okay, so you have chosen your niche market, developed a new plan of
how to market your VA services, cut out services that no longer play a
part in your new direction, and it occurs to you to ask the question: What
do I do with my existing clients who are not in the industry on which I
have decided to focus?
Great question! By all means, keep them! They are one of the reasons
you are in the place to be able to take this important step. And no doubt,
they will continue to be excellent clients and make referrals based on
your well-established relationship.
The primary focus is that NEW clients come from the industry you have
decided is the best match for the person/business you are now.
In following these guidelines, you will find your work becoming more
and more fulfilling because your efforts truly meet the needs of those
who most interest you! Only with a narrowed market concentration, can
you truly meet the specific needs of your clients.
Happy niching!

You seldom think about your car battery until you are in a deserted parking garage late at night and your car won’t start. Then it becomes very important in your life. Car batteries require simple and routine maintenance in order to work properly over their lives. If you can open your hood and use a wire brush, you can maintain a car battery. First thing is to pop open your hood and locate your battery. Don’t worry, it won’t bite.
The 2 posts that the battery cables are connected to must be clean and free of corrosion. Corrosion can prevent the cables from getting a charge from the battery and prevent your car from starting. Simply keeping your terminals clean can keep those troubles away. Get a wire brush and scrub the contacts clean. If you are really motivated, you can remove the cables and scrub the inside of connector and the terminal post. You should have a good contact after you complete this little chore. You also need to check your water level, especially when it is hot outside.
If the water level drops too low, the battery will have a difficult time holding a charge. Next time you fill up, ask the guy at the service station to check it for you. Don’t wait until your car is slow to crank up. If your battery is not putting out enough juice, it may be too late to save it. The time to save your car battery is before these symptoms show up and always have a pair of jumper cables or a battery booster in your truck. You never know if that old battery has cranked for the last time.

Voice Mail is a classy name for “answer Machine”.
Problem is, people at home had answer machines
long before most businesses. When the answer
machine industry finally figured how work to their
machines into business systems with more than one
extension, they called it “Voice Mail”
This article focuses on what you say TO the voice
mail, not the welcome greeting you might put on
your voice mail. You can leave two types of voice
mail messages. A message to a person you already
have a business relationship with, and a message
to a person you hope to establish a business
relationship with (a cold call).
Most people don’t answer machines or voice mail.
If you have an answer machine at home you have
listened to that recorded silence while the non-
speaking person breathes, then hangs up, having
decided not to leave a message. Most answer
machine message begin with a pause because the
person on the other end was not prepared to leave
a message and does not think on their feet like
you and me. In business, the pause can kill you.
Voice mail can be your buddy. Be prepared to meet
it head on without a moment’s hesitation. Just
like you worked out your one sentence unique
selling proposition and practiced the quick draw
of your business cards for networking, you can be
ready with several canned voice mail message and
not miss a second when the thing beeps at you.
Time is money. You took the time to make the call,
so you should make every effort to make it pay for
off for you. What you say is what makes the
difference.
There is some research that says the average
executive gets over 300 messages (mail, eMail fax
and more) each day, not to mention the bombardment
of advertising messages from billboards, TV,
radio, cable and newspapers. That’s a lot of
clutter to penetrate. And if your message is ho
hum, or starts with a pause… fahgettaboutit!
Your message must attract attention right off or
you go down with the delete button. Leaving
messages for friends and family is a snap, a
spontaneous act. Not so at work. You need to
prepare your message.Be ready before you dial.
What do you say? You have to plan this in advance.
Scripting is not a bad idea. I am not saying you
should read from a script, but if you write and
organize what you are going to say and read the
script out loud enough times, it will sound like a
natural when you recite it to the machine. Just
like you rehearsed your Unique Selling Proposition
(USP) so you don’t have to remember, it just comes
out naturally when someone asks “What do you do?”
I know of one eager saleslady who recorded her
voice mail response on a little cassette machine
hooked to her phone with a Radio Shack interface.
When she gets the tone, she pushes the play button
and sends it down the line. Another sales type,
(let’s call him “Bif”) had a guy at the radio
station do up a fancy 30 second commercial
complete with production effects and music. There
is a line you cross and Bif may have crossed it.
Goals Your message should be targeted at building
credibility, so when you call again and the party
is in the office, you can get through.
How can you build credibility with a voice mail
message? For starts, you don’t leave a lot of
ahhs, gulps, and uuhs. When you begin without
hesitation, in a clear, concise, upbeat manner you
are telegraphing a positive image of knowledge and
confidence, even when you get the “unexpected”
voice mail prompt.
As you deliver your rehearsed script over and
over, take care not to speed though with little or
no emotion in your voice. Remember how you feel
when the place you call is answered by a bored,
unhappy receptionist who speeds through the spiel
with the “I don’t care if you can’t comprehend
what I am saying” attitude. Your Voice mail pitch
must be warm, and slow enough to sound as if it is
coming from your heart, not your recorder on high
speed.
Here are BIG Mike’s Tips for leaving effective
Voice Mail
DON’T BE PREDICTABLE
Everyone leaves the same tired message. You get
tuned out the minutes it starts, Example of same
ol same ol: “Hi this is Bif, we haven’t met but I
thought I’d call to see if you would be interested
in hearing about my new…” UGH! Make your
messages so compelling folks have to call you
back. And don’t drone on and on, make ‘em short
enough to entice, but long enough to incite.
IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU
This phrase pops up in every aspect of marketing,
from advertising all the way down to answer
machine and voice mail messages, Its Not About
You.
Take a poll. No one cares about you. No one cares
that your mug shot is 15 feet high on a billboard
across town. No one cares if you are doing your
own radio commercials and sound worse than the
high school announcer. No one cares if your
dealership has sold more cars than all the dealers
in Central Montana. And NO ONE CARES when you
leave a message about you, or your company. Its
not about you. WIIFM.
WIIFM is not a radio station, is the acronym to
remind you they don’t care about you, instead they
ask “What’s In It For Me?” WIIFM??
SELL THE BENEFITS
The key ingredient for successful sales and
marketing works for effective voice mail as well.
What can you say that will lead the listener to
know and believe that you have something of value
for them? Prospects return calls if you convince
them you may have something they want…and, soon.
ASK FOR THE ORDER
Voice mails have been asking callers to “Leave a
message” for years, yet fully three quarters of
those who do respond to the beep only leave name
and phone number.
Your voice mail message gives you a perfect
opportunity to call for action on the part of your
listener (Remember you are competing with 300+
messages and the horrid reputation of telephone
sales pitches (telemarketers).
Go for the close with a call for action. Ask them
to do something. To Call You, To be on the lookout
for a package from FedEx. To check records to see
if you are not right on target. Ask and you’ll
get.
Voice mail response can be an effective sales
tool. Voice mail is one of many tools the
professional uses to get the job done, right

‘Net bingo is getting progressively popular all over the place. Following up on the ban on smoking in pubs and other public places, an unprecedented number of time-honoured bingo gaming places have had to close – this has evidently produced an unprecedented number of companies submitting Internet bingo as another course of action.
Actors’ and artists’ validations as reported from the Osbournes and many others have facilitated perking up the public profile of web based bingo – comprising virtually three million plus punters already going for a recurrent game or two.
We’re able to opt for plenty of Internet bingo webpages, all proposing to their supporters prizes and large numbers of other rewards, e.g. the latest cars, theater tickets and luxury holidays.
The marvellous thing about Internet bingo is that anyone can have a bash at it whenever convenient, wherever there is an internet connection. With games starting off practically minute by minute, you can opt to fix up bingo gracefully with usual everyday life.
To begin with people presumed that the community quality of playing bingo would likely suffer as caused by this shift away from time-honoured bingo gaming places — though actually bingo patrons in the UK have proven all skeptical alarmists wrong! Ever more are moving over to the forums and chatrooms tendered by an endless stream of Internet bingo companies.
Here anyone can forge new friendships, gain access to highly attractive contests and join up with a bingo community.
Moreover, independent studies have demonstrated that one is significantly more likely to win £1M by taking a stab at world wide web bingo in comparison to other forms of gambling e.g. the pools and sports betting.
More to the point, if you become a bit jaded with bingo, a great number of Internet bingo webpages have established a selection of other games. These extend from numbers and slots games, all the way through caption competitions and fun quizzes.
Facing such a huge range of possibilities, it can be a bit tricky to spot which web based bingo setup will be your best choice. Indeed it’ll pay out to carry out a bit of research and analyse who is presently promoting to the most engaging promotional deals. An uncounted number of Internet bingo webpages will authorize first-time visitors to some free games or upmark any cash deposit.
If some of your chums are presently using a given Internet bingo webpage, you may want to give a thought to doing likewise since networking lends an extra dimension to the overall amusement!:)

As you all know, breaking into E-Business is not always that simple. It takes patience, compassion, and outrageous amounts of Dedication. I don’t really want to bore you with my story, but I feel it is crucial to get the point across.
My identical Twin Brother Sean and I started off small no more than 1 month ago. We were on a popular website called MySpace attempting to market our products that way. Over the weeks, we began getting an immediate response from people about our products. To our amazement, the very next week, we received a call from the local newspaper interested in doing a story on us. They featured us on the front page of the paper!
A little secret that I have learned, if you are looking to start off in this E-Business, you need to take every option available to you. If you think you have even the slightest idea of a good product to market, go directly to your local newspaper. They are never going to turn down a story that promises potential. In doing this, you are getting notice in your community.
From there, your best friend is Word of Mouth. Word of you will spread like wild fire. My brother and I created our website and have been doing everything you could possibly do to break into the top search engines in all of the top websites. The best thing you can do is to write your articles. Just like this. This is a guaranteed way to boost sales and get your website noticed! I hope my information has been a help to you!
